Young Farmers is a project that asks questions about the form of documentary, its power to create cause and its ability to appear truthful even when manipulated. Does the portrait elevate the status of subject? What happens when audio accompanies photographs? Both the photographs and the audio are of P.E.I. farmers under the age of 35 and farming in 2009 – a year of political unrest amongst Island farmers and a year that marked a significant shift in the landscape – from farm land to rural sub-divisions popping up on the had been farm properties.

The project includes 14 framed photographs and and audio piece that plays in either portable/wireless headsets or as ambient sound throughout the photographic exhibit.
